EXSA Portal

deployed · redacted

The brief

Digitise the Excellent Service Awards: Singapore's national service training and awards programme for the F&B sector, run by the Restaurant Association of Singapore and used daily by member companies.

What it replaced

A fully manual back office. Thousands of nominations, training schedules, attendance and award tracking lived in spreadsheets, email threads and phone calls between staff and hundreds of companies.

How it works

  • Company reps get self-service nominations and scheduling, built for phones in service corridors, not desks.
  • Trainers get their own operational views. Staff get oversight instead of data entry.
  • A competition module runs blind judging and embargoed results.
  • The system surfaces evidence and recommendations; selections, rejections and results release stay deliberate human actions.
  • Shipped incrementally against real programme deadlines, from zero to a live multi-role platform.

What this proves

That an operation drowning in spreadsheets can become one calm portal, without the humans losing the wheel.

Table 23

deployed · redacted

The brief

A private, invitation-only companion app for a leadership retreat: 25 senior F&B leaders, three days in Saigon. Designed end to end like a flagship consumer app, not just an internal tool.

What it replaced

The WhatsApp group, the PDF itinerary, toggling across multiple apps, the email chains, the photo dump and the flip chart. One calm surface that knows what day it is and changes shape as the trip unfolds.

How it works

  • AI as infrastructure, not a gimmick: server-side agents with real governance. A narrow concierge for guests, a strategy curator for organisers.
  • Synthesis is schema-validated and cites real contributions. Every call logged, nothing client-side.
  • Pre-trip questionnaires feed the working sessions. The app distils the room's thinking live.
  • Product restraint throughout: no group chats, no toggling across multiple channels, tastefully designed, phased access.
  • The retreat closed with a signed Mandate. The software shaped the outcome, not just the logistics.

What this proves

That a tool for 25 people deserves the same finish as one for thousands. Small, bespoke, fast, without cutting the corners that matter.

Homebase

live · onboard now

The brief

One calm shared space for a family's logistics: who's got the kids, what's on tonight, what needs someone. Phone-first, grandparent-proof, and glanceable from a school gate.

What it replaced

The WhatsApp scroll. Pickups negotiated across a hundred-message thread, dinner plans buried, cover requests lost between the memes. The chat never answered anything at a glance; now a glance is all it takes.

How it works

  • Per-child schedules, recurring and one-off, with a coverage roster that knows which grandparent has Thursday.
  • Cover requests are asked, accepted and logged. The app informs; a human decides. Nobody's kids get reassigned by an algorithm.
  • Pick-up tasks carry their own Picked up state: who collected which kid, and when, confirmed at a glance.
  • An integrated Telegram bot nudges the right person at the right moment: cover requests, pick-ups, dinner changes.
  • Multiple tiers of access: everyone sees exactly what they need to, and nothing they don't. Confusion never makes the roster.

What this proves

That family logistics is an operations problem in pyjamas, and it deserves real software. Built for one household and designed for any: members, tiers and routines are data, not hardcode. All so everyone can be in the room, mind and body, instead of in the thread.

About

Builder01

accepting requests

The short version

Builder01 is the designation Jared ships under. Yes, the Really Exhausted Dude from the front door. This dude works with you end to end: the listening, the designing, the shipping, and the unglamorous stretch after shipping where it has to actually work. You arrive with the problem that is quietly eating your week. You leave without it.

What gets built

  • Custom tools for operations that have outgrown their spreadsheets: portals, workflows, dashboards, the quiet plumbing that holds a programme together.
  • The range runs from a small tool shipped in days to multi-role platforms run against national deadlines. Straightforward problems stay straightforward; complicated ones get made to look it.
  • AI where it earns its keep: agents with real governance, synthesis that cites its sources. Never a chatbot bolted on for show.

How it gets built

  • Simplicity over cleverness. If a solution feels complicated, it is the wrong one.
  • Humans keep the wheel. The software surfaces, suggests and logs; a person decides. Nothing consequential happens on autopilot.
  • Small does not mean rough. A tool for 10 people gets the same finish as one for thousands and beyond.

The evidence

Talk is cheap; deployments are on file. Two redacted projects, one live app, and one classified build in the lab. Inspect them in the projects index.

for clients :: Describe the problem, plainly. No brief too small, and the tangled ones are the fun ones. Chaotic spreadsheets welcome.

join the colony :: The field has room for more residents. Builders, designers, fellow obsessives: this is an open call. Bring one thing you made and cared about; titles optional, craft not.
